Brunswick is one of the coolest parts of Melbourne - with its diversity, bars, cafes, foodie delights and music venues.

My home is a lovely Edwardian house where interesting people from all over the world come together. The kitchen is a dream to cook in. Your room is charming with a double-bed (great mattress and all-cotton linen), desk, armchair, reading lamps and wardrobe. You would share a modern bathroom with one other person, as there are two Homestay bedrooms on the ground floor. Madaleine is a 26 year old Psychology student who has an upstairs studio and shares the downstairs kitchen and common living areas.

There are two shared inside living areas: one a period lounge room with fireplace and high ceilings, the other an open plan kitchen-dining-living area overlooking a courtyard. There are outdoor chill out areas on the front verandah and the back courtyard. And of course, there's fast unlimited internet connection.

I am a high school teacher who is well-travelled and enjoys meeting people from all over the world. My now-adult children have moved out of home so I'm looking to create a welcoming, adult-focused home where guests can feel a home connection while pursuing their independent day-to-day lives. Care has been taken to set the house up for peaceful enjoyment; conducive to study and somewhere to unwind after a busy schedule. You will be spoilt for public transport with easy access to the CBD, the University of Melbourne, RMIT, and major hospitals. And there's a bike-path network quite close too.

I enjoy my family, cinema, museums, art, cycling, bushwalking and travel. I have aspirations to create an amazing garden but that is a work in progress. Being curious to learn new stuff and very interested in history and current affairs I have a broad-ranging knowledge of my area and Australia in general which I am very happy to share. While I like my own space, chatting over a drink and a shared meal is something I am very open to, when you're up for social contact too.

As I'm not in the position to offer airport pick-up, the consolation is that my house is only about 20 mins drive away (depending on traffic of course).
