We live in a classic Kiwi villa which is just a 2 minute walk from Kingsland's fantastic cafes, restaurant's, bars and shops. A 15 minute walk from the nearest supermarket and also a 15 to 20 minute walk from St Lukes Westfield shopping centre.
Our house has been modernised on the inside and has big spacious rooms with high ceilings and wooden floors. We are situated 4 km's from Auckland City Centre. The nearest bus stop is a 2 minute walk away and the Kingsland train station is also a 2 minute walk. So public transport is very convenient. We are 1 stage by bus or train into the city. If you like walking, it will take you around 35-40 minutes get into the city, University of Auckland, and AUT (Auckland University of Technology). Eden Park Stadium is 10 minutes walk away if you're into your rugby & cricket.
We have one room to rent in our light and spacious house which has a small garden, and one large bathroom which is shared by the household.
- The room has a comfortable double bed, furnished with drawers, a desk, and a rack to hang clothes on. This room looks out onto the garden and is quiet.
We are a family of 2, myself (the mother, I work for a writer's organisation near Auckland university) and my son who works for Auckland libraries. We are both keen readers and collectors of books and graphic novels. When I am not working I enjoy walking and swimming at Auckland's beautiful beaches. We have shared our home with different nationalities over the years for a variety of timeframes from 8 weeks to 1 year (China, Japan, Korea, Russia).
The electric train station and bus stop is a 1 minute walk and we are and only 1 stage into the city. If you like walking, it will take you maximum 45 minutes to the bottom of the city, 30 minutes to University of Auckland in Symonds Street.
If you have a car, there is parking on the street and easy access to all motorways within 5 minutes.
Rate is room only. Kitchen available to prepare meals, but we are open to discuss meals as well at an additional cost.
If you are independent, have a mature attitude, are considerate and clean and tidy we'd love to have you.
